Suzybee

Suzybee is originally from London and now lives in the beautiful countryside of Wales. With a background in painting and fine art, she has explored the combination of art and music ever since her first experiences of dancing to techno had a powerful effect on her life.

She founded the Mindtours record label in 2000 as an outlet for the music of her friends, and became involved in organising dance events, providing backdrops and decor. This led to experimenting in hand-drawn animations, video and effects, and using VJ software to fully explore possibilities in the audio-visual imagination. She now VJs live with Steevio's music, and continues to create paintings and portraits.

Steevio
Steevio

Originally from the North East of England, but now residing in Wales, Steevio has a long history of creating electronic music. He co-managed the UK's first electro / breakdance club 'The Sidewalk' in Newcastle in the early 1980's, and was the driving force behind 'Acid' an early experimental electro outfit. He later went on to form the influencial acid label Roost Records, recording under the name 3000003. In 1997, he co-founded the techno-funk label Torque Recordings, and then began releasing tracks under the names Mindtours and Free Radicals with co-writer Charlie Henderson.

Steevio helped to form the Mindtours label in 2000, and began making deeper, more experimental music, with flavours of techno, house, broken beat, dub and jazz. He has always remained true to the live approach to electronic music production, and favours analogue synthesis. [visit Steevio's Myspace page here]

Tom Ellis
Tom Ellis

Tom comes from a small village in the hills of north Wales and has been involved in music for years. After spending his school and college days messing about with amiga's and samplers he started getting into Dj'ing and playing at free parties. After a couple of releases with Mindtours Tom and Leif formed Trimsound.

As well as mixing sets of original material and producing for such labels as Trimsound, Mindtours, Morris Audio, Logistic, Telegraph, Floppy Funk, Moon Harbour, True to Form, Frankie and Archipel, he works closely with Leif towards live sets using loops and bass guitar - merging live elements with programmed beats and sounds.

Tom also founded the netlabel Minordust, a sub-label of Trimsound, as an outlet for hisdifferent styles of production. [visit Trimsound here]

Leif
Leif

UK-based artist Leif has a driving passion for all quality music. From classic reggae and deep dub through to trip-hop, funk, house and techno, the influences can be heard in his trademark blend of minimal/dubby yet driving percussive tracks. He often plays and samples live percussion for use in his music and concentrates much of his creative output towards his live DJ sets, which combine live loops and effects using a mixture of hardware and vinyl / CD.

Leif's music can be heard on such labels as Trimsound, Mindtours, Morris Audio and Jay Haze's net-label Textone. [visit Trimsound here]

Tom Demac
Leif

Tom has often been considered to having been born with a set of turntables connected to his hands. Learning the art of DJ'ing from a very young age, it wasn't long before Tom was sitting with his friends in their studio's experimenting with sound. Taking his influences from Detroit Techno, Electronica, hip-hop and dub. he soon had a small set up consisting of a trusty MPC feeding a few rusty boxes, emitting music that seemed good at the time,

Since then Tom hasn't looked back and has developed Electronique Audio with his own blend of deep, funky, minimal electronic music. Believing that electronic music is just not only produced for going mental on the dancefloor, but also for being interesting enough to appreciate at home. However, music still needs the energy to make your feet move, so Tom is now working on performing completely ‘live.' As he does in track production, the plan is to take the majority of the studio setup to gigs. A risk and indeed a hassle, but definitely worth putting the effort in,
The Live set should be ready early 2006. In the mean time Tom will be venturing out of the studio occasionally playing his own and other like minded artists material with Final Scratch. [visit Electronique Audio here]

Duckett
Leif

From roots stemming from the acoustic guitar and a general love for music, it wasn't long before Duckett was kneeling before an analogue set-up of uncontrollable proportions. Playing every note by hand with each machine running independently, Duckett was churning out twisted, speed fuelled, acid tinged minimal techno.

The sleepless sessions, spanning for as long as three days, has eventually paid off. Evolving into the original, edgy and soulful music he has been writing for some time. Now, Duckett still manages to get the warm, rich, analogue sounding flavours from today's digital equipment.
Having released tracks on good friend Grimes Adhesif's Mindyourhead records and Steevio's Mindtours, Duckett has now joined the Electronique Audio imprint, so expect to be moved and grooved by his still relatively unknown talent.
